Agreed, I think the announcer commented that the Pac 12 has 7 teams in now, per Lunardi, my jaw dropped. Pac 12 is a terrible P5 conference imo, and has been for a long time. Usually they just have a team or two propping them up.

Minnesota loses to Wisconsin. That puts Minnesota at 13-15 - if they're still considered, something is really wrong.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

“Conference of Champions” I’m so sure.

In Big Ten NET movement this morning:
Wisconsin down 3, Minnesota up 3
Illinois no change, Indiana up 1

Did I hallucinate who actually won these games?

Minnesota is completely off the radar now. They have to work just to get to the NIT now. They'd have to win their last two (at Indiana, home to Nebraska) and then win their first round game in the big ten tournament just to get to .500. And I can't remember if the NIT takes .500 teams or if you have to be greater than that.

I thought I heard that a team has to be .500 on the year to be considered for the NIT.

Yeah, the more I think about it, I think that's correct. Earlier, I was thinking you had have a "winning" record vs a .500 record, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

              • I would not count out the Gophers just yet. I’m sure CBS would love a big market team like Minnesota over say... maybe... NIU from Cedar Rapids.

At this point they'd have to win their last two (at Indiana, Nebraska) and at least two in the Big Ten Tournament to even be eligible.

                  That's not going to happen

Lol. The NET is so dumb.

Did I hear the TV announcers during the Drake game say that they told Jacobson that UNI was good enough to finish 3rd in the Pac12 and he responded no we wouldn't, we'd win it?

Only one way to settle this: Join the Pac 12. There's literally zero downsides for anyone involved.

I agree! Extra revenue would counteract travel costs, and on top of that think about how many more games BILL Walton would call! We would finally get Bill to Cedar Falls so he can experience everything he learned!

                            • "If they win at least one game at Arch Madness, they would seem like a tournament lock regardless of what happens after that."

I'm not sure I believe that but man that Drake drubbing really turned opinions around at a national level. Going into that game it was a lot of "at-large is probably dead for UNI," now it's "Just win one."
