  • Liberty literally took a headbutt to the jaw. Astonishing no call but Terry Wymer was involved so we shouldn't be that surprised...

    • Valpo up by 12 against SIU at the break. Loyola wins a tight one at Evansville (and for those who don't want to look it up, that's actually not sarcasm).

      • WV had a chance to get a W against Kansas but laid an egg in the 2nd half. South Carolina got a half way decent road win by 16.

        • Looking through their last few games, Loyola has not looked super great. Last two games they've won was a squeaker against Evansville and a questionable call against Valpo at home. And including those two games, they're only .500 over there last six. Now I still don't like playing them, and I still think they have our number, and I do think that's the most dangerous game left, but I'm less worried about it now then I was after their game against us ended. Course I figured for sure that UNI was gonna blow the doors off of ISUr tonight and well.

          • VCU's bubble just burst as they took a loss to George Mason tonight. Unless they beat Dayton at some point, they're gone, 7 losses (would be 8 if no autobid) won't cut it in the A-10. Not only is that a bubble bursting, it's a mid-major bubble bursting. Might give the committee more leeway in going with us.

Also in bubble news is Xavier going down to Butler. They are quite literally on the bubble, last in/first out territory, so any loss for them will sting.

            • VCU’s next 3 games are Quad 1, so they may be able to fight their way back into the mix. It kinda stinks because normally I would pull for teams like VCU and St Mary’s, but with there seemingly being a cap on how many mid majors are allowed into the tournament, it has us completely turned against each other for those couple spots.

The 7th or 8th loss would be hurtful to VCU, but not necessarily the death knell, especially if it's to Dayton. Those three potential Quad 1 wins are the biggest factor. Right now, VCU sits at 3-6 vs. Quads 1 & 2. Thing is, if they win at St. Louis, and they should, that would likely knock the Bilikens down to a Quad 2 opponent. If they won out, they'd finish the regular season 24-7. Losing to Dayton in the A-10 finals would mean 26-8 and a Q 1/2 record of something like 7-7 or 7-8. They would be a play-in team or one of the first four out. Having been swept by Rhode Island probably hurts more than anything else.

The A-10 will almost assuredly get two bids. Question is whether they could sneak a third.

                • Nice showing from our OOC opponents so far tonight... Old Dominion with a road win, Northern Colorado with a 20 point road win, Marshall up at half on the road, and Colorado up away half at #17 Oregon. Hopefully Marshall and Colorado can finish them off.

Colorado scored 2 points the last 6:10. Ouch...

                      • Marshall letting it get away as well. Maybe GCU can pull one out for us?

At least Iowa lost, but in the B1G you only need to win every other game to be in the top 25....

If they aren't convincing on Sunday, which if Frederick is out I don't think they will be, they'll drop out Monday.

                          • At times, maybe more in prior years when we weren’t 5th in the nation in 3pt%, we have lamented our reliance on the 3. Last night, Alabama took 59 of them (71% of their shots) in an overtime loss to Auburn.

                            • Stanford (29 NET) loses at home to Arizona St (54 NET). Probably good as it may allow us to pass Stanford, just don’t need another team playing their way onto the bubble.

                              • Stanford down to 33, ASU is up to 49 in NET.
We swapped spots with URI back down to 35

I'd like to see that B1G logjam at 28-32 drop out.
