  • I really could care less about UNI ever getting ranked. Personally, I think it would help keep the chip on their shoulder. Ideally, I'd love for them to win out. They would probably be in the low 20's in the NET if they did. They'd be in line for something in the #6 or #7 seed area.

For me, #6 is the perfect spot to land. It would keep you completely away from the #1 seed as long as possible and it would keep you away from the #2 until the Sweet Sixteen. If they would end up as a #7, that would be okay with me also. Just stay out of that #5 spot, where you end up with those other ultra tough mid-majors who are just as hungry as we are.

    • If we want them at the closest location (Omaha) they will need to be a 8 or 9 because It sounds like if Baylor and KU are 1 seeds they will be put in Omaha

      • Surprising that Omaha might be the closest location to Houston (for Baylor).

        • When I lookd it up on Mapquest, I could have sworn it said that St. Louis is closer to Waco than Omaha. Might be a case where the distance is close enough they could accommodate someone like Louisville by going to St. Louis also.

            Mistake 1 was using mapquest

But you are right. It is 16 miles closer - 724 to 740.

TIL ... Mapquest is still around. Used it a lot in the late '90s.
                "Well, that escalated quickly."

                • Still at a 9 seed in Omaha in today's bracketology update.

                  • Sign me up for any of those Big Ten teams in a 8/9 or 7/10 game. Illinois is the only one that I'm even slightly apprehensive about playing because of the big guy and Underwood being so damn good.

I have some really, really good memories of the last time we were a 9 seed...

And a second round game against the overall #1 seed from the Big 12?

                        • I want absolutely nothing to do with Baylor. Nothing.

                          • Historically, we have never beaten a B1G team in the NCAA's and we have never lost to a Big 12 team.

                              • I feel like winning the next four would get us in the Top 25. There’s been a decent amount of coverage, I think we’re ‘on the radar’ now.
