  • Interesting tweet from the KCCI Sports Director...

Kris Murray and AJ Green are expected to each announce their plans today, the deadline to return to school. Could happen any time. I expect Kris to stay with the #Hawkeyes and AJ to join the #Cyclones. However Ben Jacobson told me 2 weeks ago he thinks AJ is going pro. @KCCINews
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Interesting. Drama will be over one way or the other soon.

Hopefully he is staying in the draft but either way he is an all time Panther great

        • What ever the decision. We need three guys. I'm hopeful we can start getting someone after it's clear where the guys in the draft are going.

He was. He was giving away the AJ Green Sportsmanship Award at one of the CF elementary schools this morning.

                • Travis Hines who covers Iowa State in depth says there hasn't been a peep out of any of the people connected with AJ in the last couple of days.

I'm really starting to lean toward him staying in the Draft.

That workout Sunday couldn't have possibly made that big of a difference. I think if he was going to Ames, he would have committed over the weekend. That's just been my gut feeling.

Can confirm. I was there. Ever Loyal Shirt. UNI shorts. Talked to the elementary kids and personally handed the recipients their awards. His girlfriend was there with him, as well.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

A call back from a team is somewhat rare from what I’ve gathered. Milwaukee appears to be highly interested. I’m gathering the Pacers might not be that far behind:

                        • We have an assistant!

                          Gameli Ahelegbe

Kwadzo's brother. Lots of DI experience. Worked for Craig Smith for 2 years. Solid hire.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI men's basketball program has announced the hiring of Gameli Ahelegbe as an assistant basketball coach.

Had multiple workouts with Atlanta as well I believe.
