  • An incredibly uncommon spike in good news for Panther fans. Feels weird.

    • Woke up this morning. It isn't a dream. We have a legit shot of having a UNI PANTHER on an NBA roster in the next couple years!!! Congrats to AJ! So happy for him! Go live out your dream young man! #EverLoyal

      • First early season projection I've seen. Feels about right even though I think people are WAY overvaluing SIU. Just because everybody is back doesn't mean their style is going to change and they'll actually attempt to score.

Missouri Valley basketball is undergoing several changes. How does the league appear to be projecting for the 2022-23 season amidst program, coaching, and roster turnover?

        • Well, this ended up like it probably should have. A.J. leaves UNI to go to the NBA. I find that much more appropriate than making a stop at Iowa State. Even though I'm a dual fan, it just seems more "right" for him to launch his NBA efforts from UNI.

P.S. I don't know if it is true, but someone on Cyclone Fanatic claimed to have seen A.J. wearing a UNI shirt yesterday. As it should be!

He awarded the AJ Green sportsmanship awards yesterday at the middle school, and yes he was wearing an ever loyal shirt.

            • On another note, why is the "ever loyal" clothes seen as symbolic, given the fact that he's left UNI?

I'm going to give him the "ever loyal" description. He stayed when his dad left. He stayed through injury. He never did transfer. I'm choosing to think that he just used Dook and Iowa State as leverage for his NBA opportunities.

Just curious, did you use, "Dook" because I did, or have you heard that before?

I'm asking because I know a couple of NC fans who, of course, loathe Duke, and they always refer to them as, "Dook."

He's not eligible for a Select contract, that's for guys that haven't gone through the NBA draft process and is intended for people too young for the draft. I'm guessing he got a 2 way contract guarantee.

Appreciate the clarification. Got lost in the weeds there.

Because he didn't choose to play for another school. Seems pretty straightforward.
Winning is more fun than losing.

And is one of the all time greats. The list could go on. Let's not feed the trolls today. Lol

Sure, but he left the school that he was "loyal" to. Just doesn't reconcile to me.

Thanks, again, for reminding me that I have zero idea as to what a "troll" is.

Apparently, seeking clarification to an inconsistency is "trolling" (whatever that means), friends.

He is doing what most young people his age are doing right now. He spent 4 years at a university and is moving on to a career.
