This seems to me to be a smart move for Jake. There are never guarantees but he has a very good chance of winning at Utah State. The game day atmosphere is outstanding I the student section is amazing. Jake won’t have to buy pizza and beer to get students to the game.
It was a good time to move on for a few reasons

As far as filling this position goes, I would imagine you'd have to have some sort of process already started, especially with taking into account that this has probably been in the works for a little bit. We need to hire someone soon, with the portal being open, not knowing who will leave with Ben, and so on.

I don't envy Dr. Franklin's job in these moments, but we hired her to keep this program moving in the right direction.

When do you think we'd hear an announcement of who is going with Ben? (Players, staff, etc.)

          sigh.

          Thoughts:
          1. I appreciate all Coach Jake has done. I hope we can treat him as the friend to the university he has been instead of a traitor. Rally in the Valley is coming up. It would be nice if he could be welcomed / thanked. Just my take--don't attack me.

          2. Who to hire? I would think:
          A) Kyle Green - would be good fit with Tuttle continuing as assistant coach
          B) Seth Tuttle - great recruiter - he has connections - Ready to Head Coach? I don't know. He would probably be willing to take the job for far less than Jake so long as $$ goes to NIL.
          C) ??

          3. If we want this not to derail UNI MBB, we need to STEP UP.

Add up whatever you spent for your Arch Madness trip to St. Louis (hotel, gas, food, tix). Give that much. If you can do it for the trip you can do it for the team. How much more would you rather go and win than go and lose?

I can definitely see why Utah State would be interested in Jake. It's been a non-stop coaching carousel there after Stew Morrill. They are built for success, but need some stability. Pefect hire for them.

Or does Jake want one more run at a P5 job and he thinks taking a quick stop at Utah State is a way to get a good one?

Anyone who gets mad at Jake for leaving is a fool. And I say that not being the biggest Jake fan when compared to some.

But to be here for 20 years, is GOAT stuff.

Let's win this hire and keep it going.

Tuttle is a massive risk IMO. But that risk could have massive upside.

I don't think Green comes back.

                    After that literally no idea

I will throw out Jesperson as an option

Thank you for two great decades, Jake.

I think we almost have to go with Tuttle as someone from the staff. Don't know what PJ or Ahelegbe do. Sonnen would be a likely candidate to stay. That probably keeps a good core of the returning roster. Having a younger staff might be attractive for players.

Others out there include McKowen, Jespersen (G-League), John Little.

I don't see Green coming back, but maybe to be a head coach. Crawford is a possibility.

I just think Tuttle will be the choice and with the booster backing he has, it is almost a no brainer to be a roll of the dice. If it fails, well, then we go outside the tree branches.

I just saw this, too. There previously was -- I guess we took it out??!?!

I've heard pretty reliably that Jake is taking the entire staff with him, minus Tuttle at this point.

It's a full rebuild but there are things to be excited for in that too.

Can we all promise not to jump off a cliff when the roster all goes?!?!?

Is the practice facility fully funded yet?
