Well I'm sure Hilton Magic made a good impression on AJ and the other recruits they had there. Constant booing, yelling obscenaties at anything and everything, including your own team at some points, pointing lasers at your opponents (https://twitter.com/bill_lederer/sta...98244873175040), and throwing ice onto the court (https://twitter.com/mctait/status/821196424989786112). Who wouldn't want to play in that environment? /s

Oh, and a bunch of people leaving early in a 2 position game against the number 2 team in the country with 2 minutes to go.

Oh and for the record, that wasn't a laser pointer, that was a red strobe stick they handed out before the game. He was just holding it length wise so you can only see the end of it. Leave it to a Kansas fan to make something out of nothing.

That was one of the best things that Iowa State has ever done during a pregame. It was really cool, especially when the lights were out. The video on the link doesn't quite capture it because there was still light on the floor. The view from the top of the balcony was awesome. And lots of people in the last row of the balcony wedged their red strobe lights into the slats of the wall so that there was a red flashing ring around the top all night.

Wonder what Mr. Green is thinking.

In all seriousness, I don't think AJ will come to ISU. I think he will commit to UNI. He will continue to take all of his official visits though, because why not enjoy the process and get free tickets to all these huge games.

It was hard to see him from where we were sitting. Was he sitting in the area where the transfers sit while they are waiting out for a year? It was really crowded there.

Is Iowa State considering recruiting a big or is Prohm going to go with 13 guards on scholarship?

I understand the joke, but I think it's misplaced.

It's not necessarily 100% Prohm's fault that ISU's post game is so anemic. While Bowie is inconsistent and Holden appears to be a bust, Fred's complete hatred of recruiting really left the cupboard bare to begin with.

Emmanuel Malou also really would have helped out a lot. Too bad the powers that be kept him from getting to campus in the first place.

Got a chance to see AJ again on Friday and very impressed. Hit his first 4 threes and ended up with seven. Was 9/9 on FT for the night and is now 36/36 for the year! What a weapon that would be to have your primary ball handler almost guaranteed to make foul shots. If he has an open shot it's rare when he even touches rim. One of, if not THE best high school shooters I've ever seen. Would be huge for UNI to get him and I think he would start from day one. It's going to come down to whether he wants to play in a P5 conference or be BMOC at UNI.

I hope we have UNI players and coaches at the game recruiting him. I think he would be the perfect missing piece when we have a team full of juniors with experience. Signing him would also help bring a few others along.

...Unless I'm mistaken, isn't his dad one of the assistant coaches? I'm sure he's recruiting him fairly often.

Tell me you're being sarcastic, right? We've been recruiting him hard for years. With his dad being an assistant coach, he has grown up around the program. We have done all we can do to show him how much he is wanted and needed here. He knows the coaches, players, culture, campus and community. I'll stand by my other posts in this thread that he will be a Panther unless one of the "blue bloods" of college basketball offers him a scholarship.
