So it feels like there's some uncertainty about Corbat following the family legacy if we are still throwing out offers.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

The kid is from Belgium originally. I'm guessing there's some kind of connection that Tuttle has from his time in Europe.

Might as well shoot for the moon with that one '24 ride. I'm sure most of the focus right now is on '25, there is a ton of work to be done in that class with what we're losing and will have open.

Honest question here, do you think Jake is also playing the long game with some of these kids know a decent percent will transfer at some point? Basically establishing the contact now, so in the future he already has a leg up if they transfer. Just a thought

I'm sure that's at least a consideration. Look at guys like Washpun and Jesperson. Even guys like Berhow and Hutson - they weren't at a P5, but we still recruited them out of high school. The portal is a while different world than it was back then. I think we NEED to think long game with almost any potential recruits. We haven't had a ton of transfers, but it seems like most (especially those who have a major impact) we recruited out of high school.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Absolutely. Every successful transfer we've ever had, we recruited out of high school and had a relationship with. I also think Jake is willing to take a kid like this that's ready to be a contributor in the Valley immediately knowing that we may not hold him for all 4 years.

Would not surprise me at all if we see more offers like this in the future.

Add him to the Offered list on page 1.
This is certainly an interesting list.

Seth and Gameli have changed Jakes recruiting. I think we will see more swing big initially and then fall back into local kids rather than start at local kids that might go elsewhere and then fall back into the uber local kids. If it hits it hits. If it doesn’t we get kids we would normally. Nothing lost with these offers, everything to gain.

                big fan of the change.

Anyone from this list would be a huge get. There's still time to pivot if we strike out, but even then, it's not like it's a must that we cash that ride for '24 this summer.

Yeah, I don't know if you guys have seen many of Matthew Hodge's highlights but he's a very athletic kid. I'm not surprised he has some high major offers. Most of his highlights are finishing at the rim, but he does appear to have a decent stroke as well. Any of the guys we have offered for this class would be high level players in the Valley.

Offered Jonathan Mekonnen, 6-7 185 combo guard out of St Paul Eastview. Athletic left handed slasher that defends well. Not a great shooter at this point.

Offers from Colorado State, Illinois State, Loyola and Drake.

He's got some James Harden in his game. Lefty, good ball handler, good passer. Gets to the rim and draws defenders. Finishes with flare. I didn't see much film on his defense but he's long and appears to have good bball instincts.
If he makes FTs I like him. He'd compliment the other pieces on the roster well.

Saw this yesterday. Will be interesting to see where we are with Cade. We've now offered others and apparently have not offered him with his first D1 offer coming from UMKC.

I'm not sure I've seen a kid's stock fall like a rock. Dallas Bear would be close, I guess...

Huh, yeah, that's a long ways down from "He might already be above us" to "Thank you so much UMKC." What happened?

I understand that often times AAU means more than H.S. but I think you look at what he did last year at Cedar Falls and nothing jumps out like wow we have to get this kid. Maybe that's just me.
