He is a lot like Wes in that way early in his career, Wes developed a nice jumper, hopefully he does also.Originally posted by sevelev711 View Post
The only future worry I have, looking at individual players, is Kimmons being somewhat afraid to take the shot. It's not that he can't make 'em, he just doesn't take 'em. At some point teams are going to learn that and pack the paint against him. He doesn't need a Curry or Klay or a Trae Berhow type of night, he just needs to go like 2/7 or something from beyond the arc for one game. Just to force other teams to guard him a little closer, so he can blow by them. It's not a problem yet, but it might be soon. And we're in the awesome awesome position of "every game counts" now, so these things are gonna start to matter.

I've had that thought too because Juwan was always better in the non-conference than conference season for this exact reason. Hopefully we see some Kimmons J's before too long. His jump shot on film from HS looked smooth. I'm optimistic.

This is spot on. I’m not so sure he isn’t a ok shooter, he just looks scared to shoot at times. His driving ability is great for being a freshman. Teams will definitely treat him like McCloud if he ends up not getting a half way decent shot. His advantage over McCloud is he’s about 1000x more athletic.Originally posted by achrist70 View Post

Kimmons won't ever be the primary option while he's on the floor this year. Juwan was relied upon to do a lot more offensively, but this team has several options ahead of Kimmons. Anything Kimmons provides is a bonus.Originally posted by unipanther2154 View Post

Great win tonight. Hopefully coming from behind at the end can build some confidence for late game situations going forward. It's difficult to not be optimistic right now and that's an unusual feeling after the past 3 years.

Loved seeing Haldeman show off his onions with that steal. Loved AJ shooting a precision dagger at the end. Loved Dahl's entire game. Great moxie on the road!
If AJ can keep his confidence up but improve his shot selection and decision making, we could get scary good.

Wow. Great win. We shot it amazingly well. Keys to the game:
3Pt shooting
Trae 5/6=83% AJ 5/10=50% Za 2/4=50% Spence 2/5=40%
Team 14/26=54%
Defense
Our guards doubled and fouled Battey early which seemed to frustrate him and helped keep out bigs out of foul trouble.
CO has several players who have seemed in other games to drive at will and we shut down that part of their game really well.
Adjustments to Siewert shooting out of his mind.
Refs made some very questionable calls. The offensive foul on Za?
Dumb coaching/decisions by CU.
1. Siewert - comes in at 15:50 1st half, by 10:10 he has scored 21 points, then we defend him better and he has a few dry minutes. But he only played 24 minutes in the game, which seems like a missed opportunity for them.
2. Minimal press - when they pressed, they did make steals. But then they quit pressing.
3. You’re down by 3, 25 seconds on the clock and you dribble for 20 seconds at the top of the key and chuck a 3?

A top 25 team, at home, shot 50% from 3, shot 89% from the line, and had 12 steals en route to having fewer turnovers than us. And we won!! Definitely something to build on.
No way I saw a 14-8 advantage in Offensive rebounds in the cards tonight. 3 of Pickford’s 4 rebounds, 3 of Dahl’s 6, and 5 of Phyfe’s 7 were offensive.
Great win!!

I was listening on the radio screaming “What are they doing?!?” But happy about it. Too often I find myself saying that about the Panthers at the end of the game. Great to see them finish strong!Originally posted by sivert View Post3. You’re down by 3, 25 seconds on the clock and you dribble for 20 seconds at the top of the key and chuck a 3?
