  • The Power 6 conferences as a whole are mediocre this year. Because of this you won't see mid major teams get any at large bids. Not that they have been getting them as a whole the past 5-10 years, but when everyone is mediocre the common thought is that it must be that everyone is good, very often that is not the case. No team in the top 15 should ever lose a game by over 30 points.

To an unranked opponent no less.

I don't have numbers to back this up but as an observer it seems like home court winning % is much higher this year. Could be way off though IDK. But all teams in the money conferences need to do is win a decent amount of their home games and they are in, Crooked system
Not calling you out specifically because I would have thought the same. Must be mostly a B10 thing because Ken Pomeroy just tweeted the below.

What’s funny is that road teams have a higher winning percentage in conference games this season than all but 2 other seasons in NCAA history. (And UCLA has already lost to 279 and 142 at home.)

Ya, but the reality is in the B1G there have been 6 road wins in conference play so far. 2 of them are at Northwestern, and a third was at Nebraska. And it's not even like these are mostly close games. Teams regarded as "good teams" are getting blown out, and that shouldn't be happening if they are good teams. Good teams should be losing games by 20-30 points to anyone.

            • As an example of the B10 thing with H/R split. Purdue as beat Virginia by 29 a home lost by 27 on the road to Illinois then beat Michigan State by 29 at home

The H/R win % being so high this year is shocking to hear. The b10 road wins don't happen. The MVC has been even more home team dominated than it usually is outside of Evansville.

              • I feel like we are top twenty team. Or close to it. MVC ic a good league. It’s not chopped chicken livers.

                • We actually dropped a bit in the efficiency rankings overall, went up in offense (we're the #7 offense according to Barttorvik) but went fairly far down in defense (132, not even in the top 1/3). Odd little quirk.

                  • Just saw ESPN's new bracketology and Lunardi still has us as an 11 seed. He did move us to playing in St. Louis against Iowa. There is a lot that can happen between now and then but I think that would be a fun match-up!

                    • I think Lunardi is just messing with us. Over the last 2 weeks hasn't he had us against Wichita, Creighton, and now Iowa?
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Fran would rather have Iowa forfeit the tourney before they'd play UNI lol.

Please provide a link where Syracuse is a 4 seed.

                              • UNI just jumped Kentucky and Auburn in Bart Torvik’s model. Up to #33.
