NBA combine this week in Chicago. He should get in. He'll be a pro somewhere next season.

Could argue he was one of the 2 or 3 most talented guys on the floor in that game, and there was a whole bunch of talent out there. Was it just me, or did he look bulkier than what he was this season?Originally posted by DownGoesKansas View Post
Outside of the .1% chance he comes back here I hope you are right.
Really hope he gets a combine call up. He deserves it

NBA Combine or not, if he plays himself into a position to be offered one of the upper tier G League contracts, he’d be going backwards by returning to college. In the G League he’d be playing against far better competition, and also aging one year in college when he and everyone else has a short shelf life of time to make money off their talents. If there’s a decent path for him to play professionally now, he needs to take it. That seems to be the direction he’d prefer.
The G League used to have a program where teams would allocate a roster spot or two for players with local ties to generate more fan interest. That assumes the player was worthy of a spot. It’s how Wes Washpun played in Des Moines for a few seasons. Not sure if it’s still in place, but assuming he makes it it’s possible he ends up in a driving distance location from Cedar Falls.

Yesterdays game's stats: https://gleague.nba.com/news/g-leagu...mmage-results/
AJ had a B+/- of 11 (only 3 other guys on his team had positive B+/- 12(G),12(F),8(F)).
3/8 from 3 = 37.5%
3 assists, no TOs, 1 steal (plus he collected a couple loose balls)
--- Really, I think he had more than 3 assists.
Also, he played well on defense.
He really fit into his team and made his team better. I'm not sure I'd call it a "clinic." I mean he fit in, scored well, defended well, and helped his team score. He is probably top 20% of this G-League Test League class.
Of note, Javon Freeman-Liberty played and did fairly well. I liked that kid, if only because he has the coolest name.

Most the time he played in the game yesterday he was on ball.Originally posted by clenz View PostInteresting note on the PG/SG situation
The scouting report on him notes he is FAR better on ball than off.
Almost like all the clowns who said he wasnt a PG were well you know clueless clowns.
Now to be fair he hasnt had a ton of time off the ball. I do think he could be a lethal SG but whats makes him so great on ball is his ability to create a jump shot anywhere.

In only about 19 minutes also. Putting up double digits with fairly limited time, while handling the ball quite a bit and no turnovers is a good start for him. Hopefully he shoots well again today. I'm not very familiar with the Elite Camp, but I like how they spread out minutes in these games so everybody can showcase their stuff, pretty much everybody on AJ's team played 17-19 minutes.Originally posted by sivert View PostYesterdays game's stats: https://gleague.nba.com/news/g-leagu...mmage-results/

I think those numbers for him off the ball are a relatively small sample size and also when he's the main focus if he's off the ball, the other team is going to do their best to keep the ball from getting to him, leading to more difficult shots. If he's a role guy at the next level, that isn't a problem.Originally posted by DownGoesKansas View Post

Oh for sure, The reason he very well may play in the league is that he will never again be the focal point of the defense. Something he has never had in his life. Really just a matter of whether scouts think they see enough after this year. For his sake i hope so.Originally posted by Wxcpanther View Post
