Anybody that's ever made a late year trip to Western or Illinois State knows how great the Dome is. Sitting with 800 people in the freezing cold is fun for about 2 minutes.
I’ve done SDSU in December, April, and October in the last two/three years.

I would describe 2 of those trips as absolutely miserable for weather and they weren’t even “bad” given the time of year it was.

Depends on where Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan land on the schedule...

          • Bruce Ahrens , who is a "college basketball insider" with about 120 followers on twitter is reporting that AJ Green to Iowa State is a done deal. Just waiting on a commitment that should happen soon. Obviously not sold on this intel, but it's out there.

FWIW Chris Williams with Cyclone Fanatics says that's not true. Sounds like they're the leader with NBA possibilities and Duke still in the mix. I still think Iowa State is a dumb move if he's truly trying to do what's best for his future. The G League or Duke would both help his future prospects immensely more than Iowa State imo.

              • I realize the Clowns can pay him better than our capabilities, but come the Hell on... Why would you not take millions from Duke to be the 6th man and possible National Title. The Clowns won't even make the Tournament.

                • What does Duke’s roster look like otherwise?
If AJ doesn’t get decent playing time, I would think it would hurt him instead of helping.
In offense-first leagues turnovers are really costly and won’t be tolerated. Duke was 103rd in Defensive Efficiency last year.

I think ISU could help his NBA chances and highly unlikely to hurt his chances. But While Duke could REALLY help his NBA chances, it could also hurt them.

                  • He would be Duke's starter at the 2 and get tons of open looks. If AJ goes they would look like this--

                    PG-Jeremy Roach (JR)
                    SG-AJ Green (SR)
SF-Dariq Whitehead (5* FR) or Mark Mitchell (5* FR)
                    PF-Kyle Filipowski (5* FR)
                    C-Dereck Lively II (5* FR)

Experienced guards with a crazy talented front line has won a lot of championships in the last 20 years.

Though I think if he gets a bigger G League deal that's where he goes. He needs to play against grown men.

Duke has 4 guy who are entered in the draft. If all 4 leave, I'd think AJ gets quite a few minutes. I think he'd play a lot either way. The big thing to me is he wouldn't be the focus of the offense. Going to Duke would allow him to play a style that he'd play at the next level.

Wait, you think ISU isn't a tournament team? Lol With or Without AJ their roster will be objectively better than it was a season ago, got a bunch of high profile transfers. They'll be just fine.

                        • AJ to ISU is the laziest take ever. (But it probably will be right). Literally wouldn't be a thought if it wasn't for his dad. G League or Duke make so much more sense if his NBA feedback is he needs to play against better competition, it is not even funny.

Good for him to be able to take the next step in his career.

                              • Wouldn't it be nice to have a chance to talk about someone coming to UNI, rather than another person leaving? That being said, Congratulations to Marc! He has been a great Panther.
