A perfect point to this is Noah Carter when we played Drake. Broddie could not guard him, now on the flip side Noah couldn't really guard Broddie either.Originally posted by Wxcpanther View Post
They could, but it's not like defenders that are 6'8"+ that can defend off the dribble at the perimeter grow on trees, especially in the MVC. Especially when we already have Schwieger and Bond on the floor to deal with.

Yes, except in this situation we would potentially have an undersized guy at the 4, not the 5 spot. Also certainly possible that it's Schwieger at the 4 spot, and this guy plays the 3. Never know.Originally posted by GoPanthers85 View Post

Wish his video would've shown more of his game than dunks and spin moves. I'm curious about his ball handling skills and jump shot.Originally posted by Wxcpanther View Post

6'10" 280 with soft hands and decent feet don't end up at the Valley level very often tho.Originally posted by GoPanthers85 View Post

Personally I'd rather have the 6'6" ish guy that can space the floor, take a guy off the dribble and post up smaller players over the giant guy. I think we need one Justin Dahl type guy on our roster for matchup versatility but the rest can be undersized and skilled players.

In theory, based on the most recent ruling, there is a guy that could have one more year, if he really wanted, that I think could catch on to the system that Jake runs real quick, I think he'd gel almost perfectly with the roster we have, and be an impact player from second one. Then again, it is all dependent on court rulings not changing because of other court rulings in this absolute disaster of eligibility. The most recent ruling states the NCAA can't restrict participation if they are within the 5-year window. This player never redshirted. Next year would be year 5. With not being able to restrict players within that 5 year window next year would be year 5 and *technically* eligible as of now.
He's a 6'10 240-250ish pound center. 138 career games. The last two seasons averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds per game. 52% from the floor, 35% from deep. 65% from the line. He was 12th in his league in win shares per 40 minutes last year. 15th in offensive rating and 17th in defensive rating.
Let me introduce you to:

Fantastic news. Looks like his game will translate well to the MVC as a center. He's not a great three point shooter from what I've seen, as he only shot 16% in a limited sample size last season, but he shot 36% at Laval University in Canada before turning pro which is fairly good for a big.

He was the #1 pick for that Canadian league, but I'm not sure he ever actually played. I think that happened around the same time he went to NC State, and thst was likely the more lucrative route so he chose that. Still, being the #1 overall pick for a professional league is certainly not nothing.Originally posted by BCPanther View PostIsmael Diouf. PF. NC State.
Played pro ball in Canada previous. Should have two years.
Closed the deal on the big that we targeted early.

The shot looks really good. I wouldn’t worry about that. He has a lot of skill down low. I really think we want Tristan Smith to be the kind of player Tytan was for us if we can get him.
I also get the sense that we may not be done after those two if the right guy is interested in committing.
