I would imagine there's a slight chance that one of the guys from our roster that portaled might jump back in if their prospects aren't good. However, I don't know how Jake handles that, we haven't really dealt with this before.

Yeah. I feel like DePaul is one of the few schools around us that has signed multiple guys. I think kids are taking their time and depending on their status, weighing multiple NIL offers. It's a wild world out there.Originally posted by SteinPizza View Post
Someone correct me if wrong, but my impression is we’re one of just about every other team who has multiple openings but few to no people signed. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of players in the portal unsigned, with others still free to enter until May 1st. The leverage is definitely with the player, assuming he has some level of skill. I don’t think we’re necessarily behind most of our peers.

Thats a hard pass for me. We want people that want to be here.Originally posted by kochrab View PostI would imagine there's a slight chance that one of the guys from our roster that portaled might jump back in if their prospects aren't good. The less people we have here crying about playing time and/or complaining about their roles on the team the better.UNI FIGHT

Agreed. Not really seeing a lot of upside on the guys in the portal. Looking like more of the same.Originally posted by 06panther10 View Post

True. Assuming that the playtime bit is a factor, most of the guys that portaled out, I'm great with. The only one that I'd take back is Wolf, but that's about it.Originally posted by 06panther10 View Post

Wolf, and family specifically, are the epitome of crying and *****ing about playing time/and or roles.Originally posted by kochrab View Post

The only ones I could possibly envision returning would be Wolf or Duax. Henry is gone, Ege is gone, Heise is obviously gone. I think Drew is finding an opportunity to play for his last year. Echoing a few others, I wouldn't hate to see Wolf come back. I know we want some better athletes and I am in that boat, but we are also going to need some 3 point shooters as well. I also think he has some better athleticism than he maybe gets credit for.
As our roster currently stands, Bowen and Trey are our 3 point shooters with hopefully Weisbrod giving a boost. I'm hopeful that Pock hits with some more consistency next year, but he really fell off after his first few decent games. I assume as his conditioning gets better that will improve. There is potential outside, but it would be nice to have a couple more options out there.

Good to hear someone else say what I was hearing as well. You don't know what's rumor vs reality but if you hear it from a couple of different sources, it's probably true.Originally posted by PantherAlum09 View Post

I believe Noah was only in the portal for a weekend when he first went. Not sure how true it was, but rumor was that his dad told Jake he was going in the portal, then Noah took his name out.To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

I heard that story from a former player's parent who's still close to the team - there may be details missing, but I believe the gist of it. I looked back and he went in the portal on Friday 3/26 and left the portal on Monday 3/29. He clearly didn't sniff around anywhere for long. I don't know how all the portal things work (or how they worked 3 years ago amidst COVID), but something weird happened there.Originally posted by Blue42 View Post
