I thought maybe the update was to delete all the posts about the commitment because it wasn't true. So much for that theory.

      Yep. Kaboom.

Saw you posted something about Roddy. Has he decided which sport he's playing yet? His current offer list according to VC is maybe slightly better that Noah but I am excited about what Noah brings. Have been high on him for a long time but wasn't sure he'd develop the skills needed to play the 3/get the offer. He did.

I'm excited about Noah, another shooter!, looks athletic and strong. So, with Carter on board, Roddy is clearly out.

One scholarship left, who's next? We've recruited so many good shooters recently, maybe Henry is good for the mix being tall and athletic, even if his shooting is a little suspect. I'd say offer and push for Henry right now!

I know that leaves no scholarships for 2019, but we had three transfers out this year and I can see 1-3 more next year, with three RS Juniors who might not get all that much playing time this year. Also, although I'm hopeful Tray will be great and really cheering for him, but the transition from juco to 4-year college academics can be very daunting, especially when your still finishing up in the summer.

I just don't want a situation where we have two open scholarships like we do this year. Although, I'm not saying we go crazy like ISUr and sign like 20 people and assume only 13 will make it!

I really don't see a class of Carter, Betz, Henry being practical or realistic from a depth/PT standpoint. Likely need to add a guard.

Roddy is going to play basketball and is a legit P5 at this point. Got a Xavier offer and several others. He's beyond us and will be a fantastic player at that level too.

I see what you're saying. Here was my thinking, this assumes we had balance before I guess:

              Lost/Replacement -

              Juwan/AJ
              Hunter/Tray
              Tanner/Noah
              Wyatt (next year)/Trae

              Bennett/Biggie
              Carlson/Betz
              Ted/Henry

Plus, I think Dahl is probably the most likely transfer next year, so more height would make sense if that's the case.

Not doubting but do you have links to any? I haven't found any but also haven't looked hard and haven't followed as closely as some (you).

Regardless I am very happy with this commit.

I mis-read the tweet. Ben Johnson has been watching him quite a bit but it doesn't look like they've officially offered. I still think that's where he ends up.

Gotcha. Yea its likely. Also hard to pass up the instate kid. Our program will always be (and should be) strongly based on instate kids.

Recruiting in general as a coach would be terrible for so many different reasons, not envious of that aspect at all.

Miserable. You're entire career path based on the whims of 16 and 17 year old kids.

Corey Evans is a really plugged in national recruiting analyst from Rivals.

Commitments keep coming prior to the beginning of the final live period. Northern Iowa added a top scorer on the wings in Noah Carter. Should make an impact at the MVC program

Carter shot 52% from 3 pt arc in an injury shortened junior season and 49% in his sophomore season.

                          My goodness.

Has anyone seen more recent film on Noah? I'm still skeptical of his athleticism on the wing and his size on the block.

The Courier article is a very good read. It is very clear Carter was our top priority. Jacobson was at all of his AAU games during open periods.

Sure he doesn't have a true position probably but good luck to the guards that try to guard him down low or the posts who try to guard him on the perimeter. I'm excited/interested to see what kind of player he turns out to be.

The Des Moines Register has really placed an emphasis on recruiting news over the past year or so. They have Carter ranked as the No. 3 in-state recruit in his class, behind DJ Carton (Bettendorf with a verbal commitment to Ohio State) and Mcaffrey's son (IC West to Hawkeyes). Noah is a very good get for us!
