Hmmmmm! Ifthe current up turn in the season continues, the people that have agreed with this thread should get their wish. $500,000 to $1,000,000 a season from a BCS school should take care of Jake leaving. Really to bad that Jake can't coach.

Well, I guess I have to ease off the hate against Jake. I said that if we beat CU, ISU (red), or Drake I would be impressed. Well, I'm impressed. In my book he's gets a little less heat, at least from me.

We won becuase he has not been doing some of the stupid things he had been doing. He had some lineups on the floor tonight for extended periods of time, and Moran got in a groove and was on fire all night. This needs to happen more often, stick with one or two lineups.

Good coaching tonight=win. More of the same please.

Don't get too carried away here please. I am extremely happy to see the improvements both from the players and the coach over the last week, and I very much hope that Jake will continue to raise his game and prove wrong those (including me) who have criticized him. But lets not go giving him national coach of the year and a ten year deal at a Big East school just quite yet.

If anything, these last three wins just make the horrible home loss to the Sycamores that much more baffling.

These two quotes perfectly sum up how I feel right now. If we can keep our momentum going in the right direction, Jake may get us back to the level we were at when he took the job. Hopefully he can find a way to go above and beyond that. With all the guys we *should* have returning next year, this team could put together a season similar to what Drake did last year.

Here's why this shouldn't confuse you jman. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Jake is the same coach whether UNI wins or loses. That's why if you're going to spew the "FIRE THE COACH" mantra during the low points in a season...you shouldn't give them up during the high points.

UNI isn't doing anything different. They're just winning. It's a fine line between winning and losing. Do you think Ferentz is that different of a coach during the 9 wins this season vs. the 4 losses? It's the same gameplan, same scheme, same play calling. The difference is execution.

I too, am going to let you in on a little secret . . . the number of people on Panther Nation that have ever actually called for Jacobson to be "fired" is quite small.

I have NEVER spewed "fire the coach" hatred. I have criticized decisions he's made. I've wanted to talk about these decisions on this board. That's what a message board is for.

To insist that most of us on here like to complain "just to complain" is ridiculous and is totally missing the point any of us are trying to make.

All I'm saying, is that when Jacobson makes critical coaching decisions that people feel may have held us back from winning any particular game, it will be discussed on here. Last night, I don't know how anyone can find much to complain about. Pretty big night in Panther athletics if you ask me.

Again, you're putting the words "fire the coach" and attaching them to people who have been critical of some of Jacobson's decisions, but never once called for him to be fired. Stop doing it.

You are way off base on this post. What is wrong with fan disapproval of the way the team and coaches had been performing?

I think a little heat from the fan base is a good thing. Some of you people have way to thin skin or you take this stuff way to personally.

I am ecstatic we are winning. But I think it is a sign of a good program when you have a fan base that wants the team to win. When we as fans do not like what we are seeing we should be able to express those concerns.

Makes me wonder if any of you watch sports these days. a lot of the conversation on the sports shows is about which coach is on the hot seat or which player is underperforming ect. ect.. True we never want to make it personal but talking about games and plays is fine IMHO.

If it is good enough for ESPN it is good enough for me.

By the way Kurt Ferentz was on the hot seat at the beginning of the season according to ESPN.com he was one of three coaches most likely to be fired this year. Well they have now changed their mind.


One more thing, what makes you think that coach Jake cannot learn from his mistakes and make adjustments in the season to become a better coach?

This may not be the point you're trying to make, but this sounds once again like "Coaches win games, players lose them," and we all know how I feel about that....
