I'd guess that it's a done deal. Dannen is putting on his tough face about this, but in the end, he's going to sign off on the transfer.

Of course he's going to sign off on the transfer. He's not going to force Doug to play at UNI - nobody has claimed he would do such a thing.

The question is whether he attaches penalties to that or not.

Just for clarity's sake, can we all understand that releasing Doug from his LOI is not the same thing as releasing him from the league transfer rules? That is the situation and it would be helpful to start from that basic premise.

I will try this one more time. Is it possible Jake and Troy get into a heated battle over this with Jake wanting to release Doug and Troy holding firm to not release him. When push comes to shove what happens next?

I am not convinced of that at all, and other than a "woe is me attitude" I'm not sure what in the article gives any indication one way or the other.

Troy has gone out of his way a little to make it clear that this is ultimately his decision, in consultation with Jake. That says something.

He sucked at Iowa State, and was only going to be retained because they couldn't afford to get rid of his worthless ass....

Now, in true Mac slash and burn fashion, he takes a kid away from his "best" friend.

He has destroyed what was once a pretty proud program in Ames, and he did it with ego, and the inability to admit that he made mistakes.....He continually blamed the players for his lousy coaching, even though he blew a lot of big leads.

The funniest part of what you are pathetically trying to spin, is that the one person that complained the most is IQ of 9, and other "dual" fans. They are the same ones on here now advocating letting Dougie go with no repurcussions.

You should be ashamed of this post.......Almost as ashamed as Mac should be for doing this to his "dream job."

How would we all feel if Farley got the Colorado gig tomorrow and all of a sudden his son wanted to change his LOI from KU to Colorado?

I'm an alum and season ticket holder. But to those of you who think Jacobson should not have released Doug, or realistically could have held him to the LOI, you are delusional. There was no decision to be made under these circumstances. He wants to go to Creighton and play for his dad and you would tell him no? Really? We are disappointed, of course, but get a grip.
