  • Annnnd so much for playing Wichita...

Wichita State arrived in South Dakota for the Bad Boy event and then multiple players tested positive, source told @Stadium.
    VCU replacing the Shockers.

      • No Trae in South Dakota.

        • And so the madness begins

          • Ugh, that's a big blow. I'm gonna guess Carter gets Trae's minutes, or at least most of them. Hopefully this doesn't effect the rest of team. I don't recall hearing another situation of a player sitting out due to COVID precautions and the team continuing to play. I wonder if this was just due to contact tracing and not a positive test.

We've got a tracing system that the league is paying for. Allows us to immediately isolate and not take the whole team down when somebody has a contact. Us and the B1G are using it. Already worth the investment.

So the starting 5 and their position replacements...
                Phyfe. . . (Betz, Henry)
                Green . . . Just play 40.
                Carter . . . (Heise)
                Pick . . . (Henry, Heise)
                Kimmons (Born)

                • Ugh this is a big blow. No margin for error and we lose a big piece for 3 big games

                  • Trae is a big loss, there's no denying that, but there's a large gap between 3rd most important player and 2nd and 1st most important player. It's a tough loss, but not a catastrophe.

The biggest issue, imo, is depth. 3 games in 3 days on a now 8 man rotation is less than ideal. I wouldn't be surprised to see names that no one expected, just so that AJ isn't playing 120 minutes.

True. I just love shooters in the lineup. And now likely 1 of our 3 starting guards can shoot. We will see what happens. So many players who could play key minutes it really is hard to tell how the rotation will look.

Also been practicing wearing masks so not everyone has to isolate... WBB doing same...

                        • Carter's gonna get the starting nod in Berhow's place, which isn't too big of a shock. Safe to say that Kimmons is going to get the fifth spot, with plenty of bench minutes distributed between those two spots.

Probably since it's game 1 but I wouldn't be totally shocked to see Born or Heise out there for their shooting ability.

                            • So are we thinking we're off until the 9th after we play Friday? Technically have 2 more games to add (I think).

I would anticipate a non-DI being added last minute for mid week this week.
