Kenpoms preseason rankings are out.
He's got Drake UNI BB Banquet
SIU Eric Coleman does well in All-Star game
And then Bradley, Belmont, UNI, Murray, Missouri, and InSU are all in the #124-135 range.
This article below only looks at the Big East, but it shows that Kenpoms preseason rankings have actually been quite good. Granted, if someone did this analysis for a mid major league, it would show that Kenpom has not been as accurate. Based on the fact that it's a near certainty that the majority of power 6 teams are going to finish in the top 100 (something that wasn't the case pre-2015ish).

I believe Bowen will come out swinging and needs to avoid injury. If he tries to be the main scorer at the rim, I feel like there's too much risk of getting rotated on a layup and landing on his butt. So I'm hoping for him to drive and assist or to shoot 3s.
Between Bowen, Noah, Ty, Trey, Duax, we'll have a lot of quickness with some length. Defense needs to be a focus. With Bowen on the court a lot, I feel like straight-up defending doesn't work if he's guarding someone with good 3pt and midrange shots. They will shoot over him. I wonder if a greater emphasis on steals would work better. Remember Abilene Christian a year(s) ago? They seemed to run an attempt-to-steal and recover-with-switching defense. I wonder if our defensive rotation philosophy could be adapted to someone like Bowen trying for more steals and then rotating to cover when he get's beat.

We're crushing Courbat's chances of becoming the best player in program history by burying him on the depth chart!Originally posted by BCPanther View PostJake's media day press conference made it pretty clear that the order for bigs is: Henry, Betz, Krogmann, Courbat.
Henry fits the offense really well and you feel like he'll relax since he knows he's going to get minutes and try not to make a ten point play every time down the floor.
Said that (obviously) Born, Heise and Anderson are going to start and then most likely Henry and they're going to let Duax/Wolf/Ege/Campbell work itself out for the last spot with Duax and Wolf having a slight lead.
Pretty telling of his development if he's below Betz and Krogman on the depth chart.

I can live with Betz because if he's figuring it out he's super unique but yeah....Originally posted by orangetennis View Post
