Frankly, more excited about quality OL candidates. Its a position that we have struggled with since the longtime OL coach (forgot his name). left to become a HS coach in Ankey(?).

Chicken and egg situation. Just like Bryce Paup's story helps open doors to future recruits, Nelson success of coaching up OLs helped during the next recruitment meeting.Originally posted by BCPanther View PostIt helped Rick a lot that he was coaching NFL dudes pretty much every year. It's amazing what that kind of talent makes you look like...

Yup - the dudes that came in this past year and this kid all look like bad bad men on the field.Originally posted by Trapped in California View PostFrankly, more excited about quality OL candidates. Clanton has done a hell of a job recruiting. As the guys he's brought in start getting worked into the system, we're suddenly going to have a lot more push off the ball.Originally posted by clenz View Post

Guys with that kind of ceiling don’t just show up on campus, or appear out of a vacuum, especially at the FCS level. Give Nelson and that staff credit for ID’ing those players, and then developing them. Transfer or traditional recruit, doesn’t matter.Originally posted by BCPanther View PostIt helped Rick a lot that he was coaching NFL dudes pretty much every year. Next year just seems to have a special feel about it...Lots of experience, skill players everywhere, an experienced play maker with big nuts at QB, some new key additions and some momentum from a 3 game playoff run. Obviously the schedule is tough but I think this team has a realistic chance for an upset in Iowa City and most of our toughest games are at home (Weber St, NDSU, SDSU, Ill St). The key game will be on the road at Idaho State (A game that could determine whether or not we get a seed).)"Give a cheer Ho, the purple and the gold!!"

Weber's running back entered his name in the portal. Their quarterback did earlier.Originally posted by UNI92 View PostNext year just seems to have a special feel about it...Lots of experience, skill players everywhere, an experienced play maker with big nuts at QB, some new key additions and some momentum from a 3 game playoff run. I didn't look into the RB, but I think the QB likely made the decision for academic reasons. Weber State only has like 16 graduate degree programs.Originally posted by Blue42 View Post
Very odd. Team that went to the semi's loses their starting QB and #2 RB. Wonder what's going on there.

Panthers have added a commitment from KU transfer Dominic Williams.
Went to KU out of Frisco, Tx where he was a 3* running back.
Looks like it was a playing time issue at KU so hopefully he can add some depth to our backfield...which I think really has a lot of good young talent but not a ton of experience.Winning is more fun than losing.
