You're assuming fans for the other schools stay and watch both games. I'm guessing we see 20% retention tops either way.

i think a majority would and if not, screw em. Better seats for the fans who stay. The mass majority will stay and watch both, it's not like their Creighton fans and only show up for their game (drunk) and leave to get more drunk the minute the game is done

They have consistently billed this as kind of like the second and third rounds of the NCAA tournament. What do those crowds look like? And those tickets are way, way more expensive than $75. I hope they put UNI and Iowa all on one side and ISU/Drake on the other. I'm betting we see huge swaths of empties on the opposite.

completely agree. the seats up there are not as bad as people make them out to be. I've been in pretty much every nook and cranny of that joint and there are few bad seats there

Still wish they would have continued on the 3rd tier bowl... if you are building it anyway, what's a few more seats?

the difference between getting the women's regionals and men's regionals. They should have built in more seats. But that's Des Moines for ya.

Agreed. Plus I think it also had to do with our MSA, hopefully the showing that DSM put on for the women's tourney will translate to something more for the future.

that is true but that's the line of BS given when the NCAA says no. Also it's much easier to get to than Dayton (bigger too). The exit ramp to Dayton is the most poorly planed exit of any host sight. The exit ramp stats as an on-ramp from another interstate in a mix-master ends. The traffic was ****ing stupid when we were there. Almost got rear-ended by a semi. It was nuts. He was just going to plow people out of the way.
