  • DM Register article on 3A first round game. So we have another Tuttle in the pipeline?

“Cole Henry talked about rage in the interview room following Oskaloosa’s 51-49 win over Marion in the Class 3A quarterfinals.

He discussed how a person can use rage in two ways.

One: You can let it frustrate and break you, make you crumble.

Two: You can use it as fuel. As motivation.

Henry picked the second option Tuesday. After missing six of his seven shots and scoring just two points in the first half, the Northern Iowa signee logged 12 points, six rebounds and three assists in the second half to lead his team to the comeback win.

"I was screaming out loud, 'I’m not losing. I’m not losing again, especially in this building and for this city.' We want a title so bad," Henry said. "I used my rage as motivation and took it to them."”

#HenryScream will be a thing by the time it's all said and done. He's a mirror image of Tutt. High school quarterback, long decently filled out frame, good handles and can really pass the ball. Tutt couldn't really shoot the ball coming into college either, man did he figure it out by his senior year.

      • Gazette: "Cole Henry had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Xavier Foster 13 and nine."
Seems like Henry is outperforming Foster a fair amount. How does Foster only get 9 rebounds?

He fancies himself a guard that needs to hang out at the 3 point line all game

          • I'd take foster in a second, but he's clearly blue blood bound.

not sure he's truly that level player, but that's what it is.

I've thought for a while that if someone didn't know who was the UNI signee and who was the 5 star the vast majority would get it wrong .

            • 12 & 10 for Noah Carter as Senior beats Iowa City West and Patrick McCaffery in an UGLY 39-36 game.

              • Carter was in foul trouble for a lot of the 1st half.

                • I went to lunch with a co-worker and that game was on during the drive. He had at least 2 offensive fouls. I didn't hear much of the game itself but did catch that.

I guess we should savor it while we can, won't get to see them again. Thanks a lot for that Fran!

Ah, as you can tell I don't pay much attention to the McCaffery family.

Almost as much as when AJ Green gave Jordan Bohannon that dagger at sub-state a few years back.
Winning is more fun than losing.

                            • Great to see Carter and Senior get the win. Pretty tough road they have taken going through Bettendorf and West. To me Carter is the most ready to help next year. I thought McCaffrey looked much better than last year. A lot of talent on the floor for both teams. Morgan must be quite an athlete as well.
Really looking forward to seeing Logan Wolf and CF again. Is there any chance Wolf can see the court in basketball? He is really fun to watch, but the dual sport thing seems pretty tough.
